The
Lancom DSL/1611 Office Internet access router enables
all users in a local network to be quickly and easily
connected to high-speed Internet (e.g. DSL or cable
modems) using PPPoE or a simple Ethernet.
Integrated functions such as an ISDN multi-protocol
router and LANCAPI make this router a complete office
solution. In addition, the ISDN router acts as an automatic
backup if the high-speed Internet access fails and can
be used for remote access and remote maintenance.

With
plug&play installation via the web browser-supported configuration
tool WEBconfig, cost transparency and control through online
displays, detailed accounting of connection data for all workstations
as well as the SYSLOG function, the DSL/1611 Office meets
all the demands of a sophisticated Internet link-up and is
a complete office communication solution for small and medium-sized
enterprises.
On the LAN side, the router supports a 10/100-Mbps fast Ethernet
interface and IP masquerading provides extensive firewall
filters and security functions that ensure optimal access
protection for the local network. An intelligent charge management
function with automatic connection administration to the provider
offers protection from unnecessary connection charges. The
standardised TCP/IP protocol eliminates the need to install
drivers on workstation computers.
In addition, the DSL/I-1611 can also be used with an optional
IPSec-based VPN (Dynamic VPN)
for secure network coupling via high-speed Internet access.
