Cipher Communications has its origins from Biodata, an organisation that initially developed and manufactured data storage arrays for the Pharmaceutical Industries, and following a change of focus in 1990 developed a range of network security products that have in many areas a uniqueness that set them apart from their competitors.

May 2002 has seen the first chapter in Cipher Communication’s history written when they ceased to operate under the Biodata banner. The Australia and New Zealand territories are now 100% Australian owned. The new structure will give the local team much greater autonomy and flexibility to tailor a strategy directed to their marketplace.
